The new Gerrit Veenendaal chair collection for Lensvelt.
The lesser known but highly creative Gerrit Veenendaal ( 18 March 1920 – 23 February 2007) designed several iconic chairs for Kembo.
Kembo stood for " Kom eerst maar bij ons’ (Come to us first)," the company that famous furniture maker W.H. Gispen set up with his cousin-in-law Ru Meijer in 1953.
The origin of the Gerrit Veenendaal chair
Our current Easy Chair is inspired by a 1958 design by Gerrit Veenendaal, a chair from Kembo's collection, available in several variants: a dining chair with or without plastic armrests (G4 and G3). And a more luxurious low version with a seat made of thicker and more comfortable polyether, also available with or without wooden armrests (G8 and G7).
