Presidential Chair
The AVL Presidential Chair is a variation of the Office Chair. The presidential chair was designed for the nuclear security summit in Den Haag, 2014. It is a special edition that derived from the AVL Office Chair, with a slightly higher raised back alluding to extra status. Upholstered in stone-gray silk and with a white coated frame. The chair was elected by the organization of the NSS as best option because of its sheer comfort and Dutch Design. As president Barack Obama and 58 other world leaders spent two long days on this chair, he described it as “truly… gezellig.”
Moreover, in 2016 the chair was used in the interior of the Scheepvaart Museum, Amsterdam which was designed by Studio Edward van Vliet for Dutch Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the European Union. This version of the chair had a gold colored base and was upholstered in a graphic royal blue pattern designed by van Vliet in which Lensvelt delivered more than 200 of these adaptations.
The AVL Presidential Chair is available in several different variations.
